Patients typically arrive one day before surgery and remain in Istanbul for approximately one week until their cast is removed.
-
While we generally recommend staying for approximately one week so Dr. Kiral can remove your cast and examine your healing, we understand that some patients need to return home sooner.
If necessary, you may travel as early as the day after surgery. In this case, your original cast will remain in place for approximately two weeks and is designed to naturally loosen and come off on its own. Dr. Kiral will advise you on the most suitable recovery plan based on your individual needs.
-
One week after surgery, you will see Dr. Kiral for cast removal and follow up. You may fly home after this appointment. If you need to return home earlier, Dr. Kiral will advise you over WhatsApp.

Light exercise may be resumed after one week.
-
Patients can sleep on their side at any time but are advised to sleep with their head elevated to help minimize swelling.
-
Light glasses may be worn one month after surgery while heavy glasses may be worn after three months.
-
Primary rhinoplasty refers to your first rhinoplasty surgery. If you have a second surgery, this is your revision surgery. In both cases, rhinoplasty may include functional changes to address breathing and anatomical concerns. Some patients refer to this as functional rhinoplasty, but both primary and revision surgeries can address functional concerns.

Primary Rhinoplasty

Revision rhinoplasty is performed after a previous nose surgery to improve appearance, function, or both.
-
In many cases, patients are advised to wait at least one year after their previous surgery, when the nose has fully healed before undergoing revision rhinoplasty. This timeline can also vary depending on the individual case.
-
Previous surgery may alter the nasal anatomy, create scar tissue, or weaken structural support, making each revision procedure highly individualized.
